Personal Reflection on my Website. - 15th December 2009
Today we had out critique on our websites. I enjoyed seeing what other people had done and also how they done it. It was very interesting and gave me inspiration and ideas for my own site.
This is the first time i had used Fireworks and Dreamweaver so this was a big learning curve for me. I haven’t used Photoshop much either and they is alot of ideas i had but just didn’t know how to do them, but i have still learnt alot.
My website met all the criteria, with it including rollovers, images, links and a video etc but it was very simple and the design of it could have been worked on and improved.
I think the banner at the top of each page, which was a cropped image of my car worked alright and the ‘graffiti’ type font i downloaded worked well with the effect i applied to the image. The main point for improvement was the general background, i used a ‘creased paper’ effect to try and represent the style of the image, being my car but it didn’t seem to work. It needed to blend in more and look like it was part of the image.
I could have done something different with the page layout instead of just having three boxes to insert media and text too. I found it hard to move the images and text about in Dreamweaver so my text was stuck in the middle of each box, this being the same with the images on my portfolio page.
I only had four pieces of work on my portfolio page and if i had more i would need to add some sort of scroll bar so you could scroll through the images and when clicked it would being up a larger version on the page for better viewing, which i had already done.
I could go on for ever talking about all the ‘possibilities’ but overall i think all my website done was meet the criteria, it was hard for me, not knowing how to do things i would have like to have done but i learnt alot. I found the critique interesting and it gave me inspiration. I have already been working on new, better designs because i am getting inspiration all the time. My skills are now improving time i could definitely complete a better website now after seeing other people and learning all the necessary programs better.

One design for my website is already live so i am going to leave that as it is the critique tomorrow, but here is another design which i have been working on which i think i like better!

Here is my website.
It needs more information on and the layout needs to be better but i found it hard to do on Dreamweaver.
Once my skills improve i will be able to create something alot better because i am not really happy with the way it looks now.

Propaganda Posters
Just trying to get together the final 10 i will be using.
I have completed quite a few now but none that i really like. I am still finding it quite hard to get used to Photoshop & Illustrator but i am getting better.
Some of the posters i have been using consist of images from the internet which i don’t really want to use as these will be pixellated when i print them in A3. I have instead made my own versions in Illustrator.
